Combined with knowledge of how to use them, bicycle tools might give you and someone assisting you the means to fix your two-wheeled issue. Watch repair videos and practice making repairs. If you can’t make the repair in the comfort of your home, will you figure it out roadside or on a remote bike trail, or in the dark and rain?
Consider taking a bike-repair-101 course. Ask your bike mechanic for pointers and tips. Ensure you have the tools for your particular bicycle. We live in an era with e-bike power trains. Do you have with you what you need and when you’ll need it? Do all the riders in your household know how to undertake those repairs? Teach your children, too!
A bicycle challenge shouldn’t turn in a major crisis just because the right tools weren’t onboard. Be proactive and prepared.
